I love press. And I especially love press when it comes from either New York City or from a foreign country. Seriously, I am becoming a press-junkie. I mean, at one time in my life I would have loved a new pair of shoes or a chance to take a trip to a remote city. Now, I would trade any of that for good press. Which is why I was so delighted to find out that La Gartier was featured last Wednesday on the fabulous United Kingdom wedding blog The Wedding Community. Black and Gold Custom Bridal Garter for La Gartier Bride Cori Normand

Last week I had the pleasure of designing this gorgeous black and gold cameo custom garter for La Gartier bride Cori Normand. Cori loved the original Black Victorian Wedding Garter that Contemporary Bride Magazine featured in their most recent issue but wanted the body of the garter to have black dupioini silk instead of a thin black satin band. I absolutely LOVE the way this garter came out Cori!!! It is romantic, dark, couture and completely one-of-a-kind! Romantic Ivory Lace Embroidered Bridal Garter with Blue Brooch

I made this ivory embroidered lace wedding garter last week for Diane Cheatham of Diane's Formal Affair and wanted to share it with you all today. There are three very gorgeous components that went into making this garter: one, the gold and silver embroidered organza you can see on the outside of the garter. Secondly, the ivory double faced satin ribbon inlay. And thirdly, the center blue brooch with tiny outer-rhinestone detail. Everything about this garter screams couture and elegant! Blue Lace Wedding Garter

Last week, I designed a custom garter for Diane Cheatham of Diane's Formal Affair in Jasper, Alabama. Diane wanted at least one garter in her store that was extremely couture and rare. Since I knew that she liked garters that were blue, I went to my favorite fabric store and looked through their selection of extremely high-end blue emboidered lace trims. I saw quite a few that I liked, but there was one particular blue sequin embroidred blue lace ribbon that stuck out far beyond the others. (See pictures below). I bought it immediately and headed to my studio to see what I could make of it. Below are pictures of the final product. The inside of this garter is a gorgeous ivory double faced satin ribbon. At the center, is a sparkling "daffodil" rhinestone brooch. However, it is undeniable that the best feature of this garter is the beauty of the blue embroidered lace ribbon by itself. The only down side about this garter is that my fabric store only has about thirteen yards of this gorgeous blue ribbon left. Once they are out, I doubt they will be able to order more.....which I suppose makes this garter even more special due to its rarity. I think this garter would make a phenomenal "something blue" for a bride who wants a garter that is couture, elegant and one-of-a-kind. Ivory Beaded Wedding Garter + Inspiration

The more I look at the Lori garter, the more I appreciate it. It is simply the prettiest ivory beaded wedding garter I have ever seen. When I first designed it, I wasn't sure how brides would respond to it. That is, it was very untraditional. There was no lace. No trim. No center bow. None of the things that people normally identify with normal wedding garter anatomy. Apart of me was afraid that it was too "outside of the box" to be appealing to my brides. I could not have been more wrong. Almost as soon as I posted the Lori garter on the website, I began to recieve inquiries about it. I think there are a number of wonderful design aspects of this garter: one, it is beaded with over one hundred different ivory pearls and rhinestones. When the light hits it, it sparkles like mad. In addition, the Lori garter lies very flat on the brides leg. So, if she is wearing a gown that does not allow for a bulky garter (like a trumpet or a mermaid style gown) the Lori is perfect in its flat, unobtrusive design. Lastly, the Lori garter is a tiny bit vintage-looking in its coloring which makes it a perfect garter for any bride who has a touch of vintage inspiration in her wedding.
