I love waking up to that little blinking light on my Blackberry that tells me I have new email. I'm just going to go ahead and admit it: I sleep with my Blackberry. Yep, right next to my head. It is one of the last things I see before I go to sleep and one of the first things I see when I wake up. Well, this morning as I checked my inbox (and let me eyes adjust to light), I saw an email from Lei Lydle of AtlantaBridal.com informing me that she had written a feature on La Gartier while I was sleeping. What a fun email to wake up to.

La Gartier Giveaway with Bow Ties and Bliss

This week La Gartier is partnering with Becky of Bow Ties and Bliss for a giveaway that gives one lucky bride the chance to win either the Lauryn, the Andrea, or the Kim garter. Bow Ties and Bliss first caught my attention about two weeks ago, when it blogged about my favorite online bridal boutique Bella Bleu Couture Bridal. Becky, the writer behind Bow Ties and Bliss, has created just the kind of wedding blog I like: cute, girly, and full of irresistable wedding details. And to top it all off, the entire blog is in my favorite all time color: pink.

Sandra Bullock Getting Married

So, truth be told, I am not a huge celebrity follower, however I absolutely adore Sandra Bullock and couldn't help but notice tabloid headlines this week regarding her recent engagement to fellow celeb Ryan Reynolds. Doing some late night web surfing just now, I came across the following article about her well-gossiped-about wedding gown. Who knows if any of this is even accurate given the infamous lie-spinning habits of tabloid magazines. However if this is true, I am headed to my favorite fabric stores ASAP to design a matching lace and tulle wedding garter.

Brandon Gregory Photography and the Britney Spears Garter

I recently met the nicest photographer while I was out on the town with a few of my closest girlfriends here in Atlanta. His name is Brandon Gregory and he started Brandon Gregory Photography as a teenager. I met up with him at a local restaurant to talk about shooting my garters, and he told me that he had gotten into photography at a young age, after buying his first "nice" camera for an up and coming trip to Europe. He laughingly told me that before he had even stepped foot on European soil he had already snapped over a thousand photos and knew right there and then that he had found something he loved to do. Brandon primarily does fashion and portrait photography (it isn't uncommon to see him shooting some of Atlanta's hottest new musicians and artists) but is so talented I knew that if I gave him one of my garters he would come back to me with great product photos. Below are his first attempts EVER at product photography. Not bad, eh? The garter is one of the first customizations I ever did for a bride named Daisy that was in LOVE with chunky rhinestone jewelry. She also really liked Britney Spears....thus the name of this ultra-girly rhinestone heart garter.

New Wedding Garter Styles Available on Bella Bleu Only

The new styles are out!!! Below are the two new, ultra-glamorous La Gartier garters designed exclusively for Bella Bleu Couture Bridal and Speciality Accessories Boutique!!! La Gartier became an official Bella Bleu vendor last month, offering the Leanne and the Nina couture bridal garters..........but the longer I thought about it the more I felt that two garters should be designed just for the Bella Blue website. So.....here they are. The first garter, the "Avery" garter, is made of a white pleated organza with chantilly lace detail, and is dotted with alternating ivory pearls and silver set rhinestones. It is centered by an exquisite pearl and rhinestone "flower" brooch (I can't think of what else to call it!). The second garter is made of two different fabrics: a white antique eyelet lace over a white double faced satin ribbon, with alternating silver set rhinestones (small and large) and a blue, blue, blue rhinestones center embellishment that cries glamour. This garter, the Rachelle garter (named after the newest LG bride Rachelle Schenk) would make a glamorous and completely original "something blue".
Both garters are available exclusively on the Bella Bleu website, where you can find a number of other designer bridal accessories that I, for one, drool over. I'm not even engaged! Sewing and Hardwork

I have been sewing for three days. It actually, technically, started Saturday but I went out Saturday night so that does not count. Let me tell you, it is hot in Atlanta and my sewing machine hasn't exactly been cooperative. At times like this, when I am getting frustrated and sweating and feel like I haven't seen PEOPLE for a decade and it seems unbearable to sit at my sewing desk for another few hours, I find myself looking up what other business owners and entrepeneurs have written/said about the quality of hard work. Some of them are so good, I feel like they deserve some blog attention. So, here are a few below. I especially like the one by Abraham Lincoln. I didn't even know "hustle" was a word they used back then.
