This week, I am excited to announce that I am collaborating with The Wedding Community blog for a give away that gives one lucky bride the chance to win one of four gorgeous La Gartier garters: the Pierce, the Corrie, the Janice or the Lori garter. La Gartier Featured in The Knot Magazine!!

When I first started La Gartier, I had a few internal, unspoken rules in my mind for what it would take in order for myself to consider La Gartier a success. Looking back, I can clearly identify them now. They were:
1. La Gartier will be successful once it is nationally recognized by the top bridal publications in the country. (ie: Brides Magazine, The Knot, Martha Stewart etc.)
2. La Gartier will be successful once three or more A-list celebrities wear a LG garter on their wedding day.
3. La Gartier will be successful once I am consistently shipping over thirty garters per day to brides all over the world.
Well Ladies and Gentleman, I am very proud to announce that I can now check number one off of the list! The Knot Magazine has printed a La Gartier garter in their spring edition and I honestly feel like I just graduated from college or something. The Knot Magazine is the second most widely distributed bridal publication in the country. It is a fabulous magazine and a source that brides trust for the best advice, trends and inspiration for their big day. I feel so happy when I look at page 212 of the recent editon (shown below) and realize that all of the effort of the past two years have really amounted to something. (An eleven dollar, surprisingly heavy something at that!!) A huge thank you to editor Jennie Ma for taking the time to make my dreams come true. Happy happy happy happy La Gartier everyone. ♥♥♥♥

Custom Wedding Garter: Peacock Wedding Garter

Peacock feathers have always amazed me, with the vibrancy of the greens and the blues they show off (literally) and the complexity of their patterns. It makes sense that so many brides today are incorporating peacock feather elements into their wedding day. Not a week goes by recently that I don't see a new peacock inspired wedding on the top weddings blogs or paging through some of the most popular bridal publications. So about five months ago, I broke out the ribbon and went shopping for a peacock feather to create a peacock inspired wedding garter. Below are pictures of the final product plus a few real wedding peacock pics. The body is made of a green double faced satin ribbon, with a french imported floral embroidered ribbon on top. In the center is a fabulous peacock brooch I found online, with the most important element behind it: a peacock feather straight from the tail of one very cocky, flashy, show-off male peacock somewhere in the world. Britney Spears Engaged + La Gartier Ambition

So, as the world gossip goes, pop-singer Britney Spears got engaged this week! The rumors started a few days ago but were solidified Thursday when she stepped out for her fiance, Jason Trawick's fortieth birthday party wearing her engagement ring. While I am not a huge fan of pop music, I am a big Britney fan mostly because of her talent as a dancer. I can't get enough of Britney's dancing and to this day will pop in my "Best of Britney Videos" during an at home work out or just when I want to feel inspired. For anyone who has ever danced, it is hard to deny her talent as a performer. What does this have to do with garters you ask? Four words: La Gartier Bride Britney Spears. I would love love love to design a garter for her! Wish me luck!

Heirloom Wedding Garter Set

One of my favorite garter designs to do is a heirloom garter set, for brides who wish to incorporate a piece of jewelry from their mother's/grandmother's jewelry collection or, well, any other material that has a special family significance. Whether it be a piece of fabric or a trinket that once belonged to their father, the best thing about creating a heirloom garter set for a bride is knowing that she will one day pass it down to her own daughter (or whomever she so desires for that matter). A great example of a La Gartier heirloom wedding garter set is pictured below and if you don't mind I am going to tell you all about it!!:) The brooch was from La Gartier bride Erin Hamilton's mother's jewelry collection. It was an incredibly old, incredibly beautiful brooch that she sent me via ups, covered in so much bubble wrap you would think an atomic bomb was inside. We decided to put it on a white layered spotted english netting garter to match her gown, and left out all other embellishments other than the brooch. Anything else would have just taken away from how spectacular this particular piece of jewelry was. Below is a picture of this jaw-dropping heirloom wedding garter. Happy La Gartier everyone!!

Let me start this blog posting with a *gasp*. La Gartier was featured this week on the blog of celebrity wedding planner Tara Guerard. Which, if you aren't completely immersed in the glittering world of weddings as I am, you might not know what a big deal this is but wow, let me tell you, I am over-the-moon happy. You see, Tara Guerard is a nationally recognized wedding planner, not to mention one of my personal favorites. I blogged about her and her company, Tara Guearard Soiree, just a few posts back so I won't bore you by re-writing (re-gushing) all about her. Let me just say that sometimes it pays to muster up some courage and simply pick up the phone. Thank you Tara and Erin for the posting and I hope to design for your brides someday. Wedluxe Bridal Show + La Gartier

On January 8th, at the Ritz-Carlton in Toronto, one of the world's most chic, fab, gorgeous wedding shows is going to take place. Wedluxe Bridal show (hosted by Wedluxe Magazine-Canada's luxury wedding magazine) has been designed to be a sensory experience whereby the magazine's pages come to life in a breathtaking display of creative ingenuity and visual extravagance. Attendees are pampered from the first moment they enter the grand foyer of the Ritz-Carlton Toronto, with the first 100 brides to receive swag bags full of goodies. And guess who's in the bag? La Gartier! While La Gartier might not be able to attend in person (plane tickets to Toronto were to expensive!!) we will be satisfied with laying low, or high, in the swag bags. Real Wedding: La Gartier Bride Pattie Manor

I just received a few photos from La Gartier bride Patti Manor of her garter along with a few of she and her husband on her wedding day. Patti, then Patti Boberg, ordered the Leanne garter last March for her wedding in Washington State. I just love the color quality in the picture of her and her husband. Below is the Leanne wedding garter. It is made of a white organza chantilly lace and a center rhinestone brooch that is to die for. Thank you Patti for the photos!
