La Gartier Wedding Garters Weekly Instagram Round Up
By: Sarah Dobson | Tuesday 14th of October 2014 05:12:57 PM
Well Ladies and Gentleman, it is that time again! What time might you ask? Time for La Gartier's weekly Instagram photo round up! Below are a few pictures of the behind-the-scenes happenings from the world of La Gartier over the past week. If you have an Instagram account and would like to follow us, our name is @lagartier. Happy La Gartier everyone! Enjoy!
Just finished: La Gartier bride Kristen Johnson's custom seafoam blue silk and opal custom wedding garter set. Kristen and I have been working closely together for the past three weeks to create a design that not only matches her gorgeous "something blue" undergarments but also her beautiful opal embellished Hayley Paige gown. The main color of this garter is everything to me and I am so happy that meeting Kristen Johnson has given me a chance to work with it for the past few weeks. I find this design to be fun, fantastically original and a mini embodiment of Kristen herself.
La Gartier bride Amanda Topits wearing her custom garter set on her wedding day. I think that Amanda would agree with me when I say that there is never such a thing as too much pink. (Amanda just so happens to be the owner of Hyde Park Bridal in Cincinnati, Ohio where she carries a variety of our beautiful garters. I encourage anyone who lives in the Cincinnati area to visit her gorgeous store)
Just finished: La Gartier bride Sarah Hamburger's custom New Orleans Saints wedding garter. Both Sarah and her fiance are New Orleans natives, so Sarah wanted a garter that would not only represent New Orleans itself (via the fleur de lis symbol) but that would also embody their shared love of the NOLA Saints. My favorite part: Sarah was very adamant about creating a garter that the men in attendance will actually really LIKE, which makes Sarah exceptional in the way that she is thinking more about others and her fiance will enjoy than what she will enjoy. Now, that's love.
Currently working on a design to match the Katie Grace gown by Heidi Elnora. The use of alencon lace and ivory satin covered bridal buttons defines this design, and sings "southern belle" in a way no design has before. The dresses of Heidi Elnora are nothing short of beautiful. If you are in the market for a gown, take a look at www.heidielnora.com. (Heads up: just make sure you have at least thirty minutes to spend browsing. You will be glued)
Alright, so I know most of you already have beautiful engagement rings on your hand, but can we all just take a moment to admire this outrageously pretty custom Mociun ring? Its is made with rose cut, baguette cut, and round cut white diamonds set in 14k yellow gold.
What is done in love is done well.
Wedding rings that make me stop and take a screenshot before I know that I am taking a screenshot: the Unearthen Crown Heirloom engagement ring from a company called Bona Drag. I mean, seriously??
My current obsession-- the "Tutu Du Monde Enchanted Tutu in Mist" by a company called Koko Blush. If you do not yet have your flower girl/s dresses picked out, then I would highly suggest this one. It makes me want to be eight years old again. Actually, who am I kidding. .....I always want to be eight again.
Sometimes being a #Girlboss means working when others are playing. But that's okay because that is what makes you a strong #Girlboss.
The Vienna garter paired with our signature blue pearl tosd garter. One of the prettiest "something blue" garter sets in the world.
Our #wcw pick of the week is Jennifer Aniston, the blushing bride-to-be that is most known for her role as Rachel Green on Friends. (And also her gorgeous hair) Jennifer is engaged to actor Justin Theroux, and has not yet set an official date for the wedding. (Side note: did you know that Jennifer Aniston is a devout yoga practitioner? I didn't until recently, and I suddenly like her so much more for some reason.
A big thank you to La Gartier bride Amanda Topits, owner of Hyde Park Bridal, for sending us pictures of herself wearing her custom garter set on her wedding day! Amanda's design was defined by the three main visual components of her wedding: blush pink, sparkle, and ultra-femininity. I loved making this garter for her. Little did I know that she would be sending me a handful of incredible pictures like this just five short months later. More to come from this stunning wedding! (Photo credit: Margot Landen Photography)
Just finished: La Gartier bride Katy Sullivan's custom vintage brooch garter. For her design, Katy sent me five pieces of vintage jewelry from her grandmothers' jewelry collection. Here, on Katy's keepsake garter, we used two of the peices--- a large circular brooch and, on the inside of the brooch, a sparkling beaded earring. (The remaining pieces of vintage jewelry were used on her toss garter which is not pictured here) I am absolutely in love with the final product! I think this design serves as an excellent example of how you can incorporate heirloom jewerly into a stunning and meaningful custom garter.
La Gartier bride Danielle Tamillo wearing the Aurora garter during her drop dead gorgeous boudoir shoot with Meghan Martin Photography. The pictures from her boudoir shoot are so pretty that I am having a hard time selecting which photos to post. Seriously, I want to post all of them. Danielle, thank you so much for choosing to wear La Gartier on your wedding day. I am over-the-moon proud to call Danielle Tamillo a La Gartier bride.
Just finished: La Gartier Brie Allen's custom Max 4 camouflage and silver stag head custom wedding garter design. I'm going to be honest-- usually I avoid camo themed garter requests but this one was too special to pass up. Brie came to La Gartier via the recommendation of one of our past custom brides, Flor Maria Ngyen, who I simply loved working with. Brie wanted a garter that was made out of a very specific type of camouflage ribbon-- Max 4 camo, her soon-to-be hubby's favorite. As you can guess, he is a huge country boy and loves Max 4 camo. But Brie wanted her garter to still have a predominantly feminine touch to it, so I added lace and made the silhouette as dainty as possible. The icing on the cake is the silver stag head pendant at the center-- a perfect blend of masculinity and femininity if there ever was one. Flor, thank you times a million for sending Brie Allen my way. She has been beyond lovely to work with and her garter will go down in history as the prettiest camo garter ever made.
Just finished: La Gartier bride Alicia Watson's custom blush pink, mint and gold inspired custom garter. What a beauty. Alicia fell in love with the Jill pink flower garter, one of La Gartier's oldest designs (discontinued over a year ago) but wanted to find a way to incorporate gold and mint into the design. So, I set to work finding a perfect mint colored brooch for the center of her Jill pink tulle floret. The fact that the mint brooch is set in gold is icing on the cake. My favorite part? Alicia's leaf inspired gold/rhinestone toss garter. Emblematic of her autumn wedding.
La Gartier bride Amanda Topits turned the Vienna garter into a headband for her sweet niece. Now look at THAT flowergirl gown! Adorable!

Christmas Holiday Wedding Garter
By: Sarah Dobson | Monday 26th of December 2011 04:31:51 PM
Eventhough it is the day after Christmas, I thought that the Christmas wedding garter would be appropriate to write about. It was made for La Gartier bride Kimberly Challina for her Dec. 24th, Christmas Eve wedding right here in Atlanta, Georgia. Because of the special date, Kimberly decided to have an angel motif throughout her wedding and was delighted to find that I had a rhinestone Angel pendant in my jewelry collection. To keep with the spirit of the season, we used a dark green velvet ribbon across the body and two tiny red bows on either side of the angel. Below is Kimberly's garter. Merry La Gartier everyone! And congratulations Kimberly!!!

Bride Andrea Antunes' Flower Girl Basket
By: Sarah Dobson | Friday 28th of October 2011 06:59:21 PM
It is so rare that I design wedding accessories outside of wedding garters, however when La Gartier bride Andrea Antunes asked me to design her flower girl basket I couldn't refuse. We had already custom designed her wedding garter-- a stunning vintage cameo wedding garter set to honor the memory of her grandmother-- and she wanted her flower girl basket to be designed in a similar way. I suggested we stay with the same rhinestone and pearl motif we had used ALL OVER her pearl dupioni silk garter by putting rhinestones and pearls around the rim of her basket, on the outside and the inside, and also along the handle. Andrea found a wonderful basket on Etsy, had it shipped to the studio, and below are the pictures of the final product. Send more work my way Andrea I think we are on to something!

New La Gartier Location: Sweet Elegance Bridal!
By: Sarah Dobson | Monday 26th of September 2011 10:30:41 PM
La Gartier is happy to be one of Sweet Elegance Bridal's newest vendors!! Sweet Elegance Bridal is located in Decatur, Georgia and is owned by a mother daughter team. Mother Aimee and daughter Kristine (who look so much alike it is uncanny) began Sweet Elegance Bridal because they wanted to create a boutique that would give customers a chance to experience good customer service as well as get a great deal on their dream bridal gown. They are one of the oldest, most established wedding boutiques here in Georgia and are well know for doing just what they set out to do: give a bride excellent, above average customer service. On the Sweet Elegance website, Kristine and Aimee describe themselves as a small boutique with a lot of flare but I think they are being modest. That is, Sweet Elegance is a spacious, glamorous boutique in my eyes....with two full rooms of gowns and to-die-for accessories. You know, the ones you can't walk past without wanting to pick up? Well, I am happy to announce that La Gartier Garters are now apart of their irrisistable accessory collection and I for one couldn't be more excited about it! To learn more about Sweet Elegance bridal, you can visit their boutique website here: www.sweetelegancebridal.com.
Below are Kristine and Aimee, the mother daughter team behind Sweet Elegance Bridal. I don't know if I have ever seen a resemblance between a mother and daughter so striking!!!

Blue Bridal Boutique in Denver
By: Sarah Dobson | Thursday 22nd of September 2011 12:04:44 PM
La Gartier is happy to be one of Blue Bridal Boutique's newest vendors. Blue Bridal is located in Denver, Colorado on the infamous 16th street mall. This is a very special partnership for me as Denver is my home city and the shops along 16th Street mall are ones I know well. Blue Bridal is a chic, contemporary boutique, located in the heart of downtown Denver. Locally owned and operated, Blue Bridal offers exquisite designer gowns, at surprisingly delightful prices. Blue carries a wide variety of designers, including (but not limited to) Lazaro, Rivini, La Sposa, Pronovias, Jenny Yoo, Theia, and Simone Carvalli just to name a few. Most of the designers are exclusive to their boutique in Colorado, which means you won’t see the same gowns anywhere else. Blue also carries a wide array of gorgeous accessories that are either blue in color or have an accent of blue......... perfect to match their name and perfect for a "something blue."
If you are in the Colorado metro area, please visit the at 500 16th Street, Suite 222, Denver, Colorado 80202. You can visit their website by clicking here.
