Couture Military Garter for the Military Bride

By: Sarah Dobson | Wednesday 21st of September 2011 12:47:44 AM

About a year ago, I came across the most unique pin in the back of one of my favorite antique stores here in Atlanta. I bought it right away thinking that it would be perfect for a military garter. (I did research on the pin and it is actually a pin rewarded to soldiers that jumped out of airplanes during WWII. I have no idea who this belonged to but can I please say, wow, what you must have seen in your life).

Anyway,  I had just seen a friend of mine do a WWII inspired engagement shoot and I knew that there was a demand for military styled wedding garters. I had never seen a military garter done well however. You know, something designer....something of substance. The few military garters I have run across just include a military green color, camouflage or some sort of american flag insignia. About two weeks ago I put all of my work aside and decided to finally design the military garter the pin was meant for. Below is a picture of the final product. Behold, the first couture military garter. (Now there are two words that I never thought I would see together...couture and military). I can't wait to send this to someone who will love it!
