Modern Couture Tulle Wedding Garter Set
By: Sarah Dobson | Monday 11th of March 2013 04:35:29 PM
Ok, so come with me back in time for a second: A few months ago I was walking through Macy's at Lenox mall and saw a Betsey Robinson brooch that stopped me dead in my tracks. It was a small heart shaped lock brooch with a tiny key hanging off of it. I instantly checked the price but forced myself to put it back down and leave the store due to this brand new thing I have developed called retail discipline. Over the next few days, I couldn't get the brooch out of my mind. I knew that it would look amazing on a wedding garter. I even began to imagine what kind of wedding garter I should design to compliment it. Well, suffice to say, my retail discipline did not hold out and I was back at the Macy's counter just a few days later.....purchasing the irrestible little thing. On the way home, I drove in a mood of energized inspiration, thinking of how the lock and heart brooch would make a perfect symbol for a bride who believed that her fiance was the key to her heart. I went straight home and spent over three hours creating a garter that was made of layered ivory tulle. Simple, plain, by heart-wrenchingly girly. I wanted the body of the garter to be unadorned and simple so that the brooch would really stand out. I then designed a matching ivory toss garter to accompany the keepsake garter. Below are pictures of the final product. I have decided to name it "The Betsey Johnson Wedding Garter" due to the fact that the brooch is an authentic Betsey Johnson peice. I realize that this is not the most creative name in the world.....but I also happen to know that this is one of the most original, unique gartes in the world at the moment, so I figure that this lets me off of the hook a tiny bit. (grin) If you love this garter as much as I do and are interested in purchasing it, please feel free to contact us by using the contact form here or by emailing us directly at info@lagartier.com. Happy La Gartier everyone!

A Thin Sparkling Loop Wedding Garter Named
By: Sarah Dobson | Thursday 31st of January 2013 05:30:49 PM
Introducing the Joy garter. The Joy garter is made out pure rhinestones. Set in a sort of "infinity" loop design, the Joy garter has a very fantasy-like, glamourous feel. Due to its sparkling girlishness and fantastic design, I have decided to name this garter after Joy Thigpen--the creative director of the infamous wedding blog OnceWed.. I think this garter is beyond perfect for the bride who loves bling, sparkles, or anything that has to do with fantasy. (ie: The Labrinth, Lord of the Rings, The Never Ending Story, etc) If you are looking for a unmistakably glamorous, modern wedding garter than the Joy is a must-have. I think this garter would also be an excellent choice for a bride who wants a garter that is fairly flat and unobtrusive. You can order it by visiting The Garters page by clicking here or by contacting us directly at info@lagartier.com.

La Gartier Wedding Garters Continues to Evolve!
By: Sarah Dobson | Wednesday 14th of December 2011 08:17:31 PM
So I have spent the past two days holed up in the same thirty by thirty square foot space, putting the final touches on about thirty garters set to go to my photographers tomorrow at ten a.m. I feel a little out of it, as I haven't really talked with another human being other than the occasional cash register interaction, but I can't wait to see what the photos look like. The newest garters are by far the best La Gartier garters yet, with a strong emphasis on the possibilities of customization and serious jolt of luxury. Finer fabrics and finer embellishments define the newest collection. I have been working on them for months and can't wait to share! Be on the lookout for the newest La Gartier garters in seven to ten days! And while I am totally psyched about the arrival of the images can I please just say it feels so good to be out in public! I don't even care that this coffee shop doesn't carry soy milk!

Call me predictable, but pink has and always will be my favorite color. Audrey Hepburn, I so completely and totally appreciate that you felt strongly about the color pink!! Below is the quote, beautifully and artistically rendered along with some of my favrite La Gartier garters that incorporate pink!

Trend Alert: Short Reception Dresses and Fabulous Wedding Garters
By: Sarah Dobson | Sunday 24th of July 2011 09:57:10 AM
One of the newest trends I am seeing in the wedding industry is the short reception dress. Brides are now buying two dresses: one for the ceremony and one for the reception. The dress for the reception is what you would usually imagine as a wedding dress: long train, veil, etc. The reception dress however is short, fun, and a little more sexy as it usually shows off the bride's legs. I am loving this new trend....even though it adds the stress of deciding on a second dress to the mix. (I mean really, picking out one dress is a huge task in itself but two?) Still, it does seem appropriate to change into a short, fun dress for the reception as the reception itself is the "let-your-hair-down" part of the wedding. Why am I blogging about this? Because a short reception dress puts an entirely new emphasis on the wedding garter than does a long traditional dress. I suppose it all depends on just how short the dress is, and how low or high the bride decides to wear her garter, but the way I see it this new short reception dress trend adds new meaning to the bridal garter as a basic wedding accessory. Point being: a fabulous short reception dress should not be accompanied by an ugly, fifteen dollar Vegas garter. It should something stunning, stylish, worth showing off (other than those fabulous legs:)) If you are going to wear a short reception dress, and plan on buying a wedding garter as well, consider a La Gartier garter that will compliment your dress and stand out. Please don't showcase one of those horrible garters from Hobby Lobby or Micheals or something. eeewwwwwwwwwwww.
Below are a few pictures of some of my favorite short reception dresses I have come across lately, including Carrie Underwood's fabulous Monique Luiller........along with a GREAT picture of a "short dress" garter removal. Is it just me or does the short reception dress make the garter removal tradition look better?? Happy La Gartier everyone!
