Real Wedding Garter: La Gartier Bride Amanda Pelletier's Custom Champagne Satin and Alencon Lace Wedding Garter

About five months ago I had the pleasure of designing a gorgeous and unique custom wedding garter for La Gartier bride Amanda Pelletier. Amanda was married on March 30th at The Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island, Florida. Today, Amanda was kind enough to email me pictures of herself and her garter from her wedding. An Ivory Tulle Wedding Garter with Rhinestones and a Sparkling Brooch Named "Gracie"

Introducing the Gracie garter. The Gracie garter is made out layered light ivory tulle fabric. At the center of the garter is a sparkling crystal rhinestone "Roman" brooch. Dotted around the body of the garter are over fifteen tiny swarovski crystal rhinestones. I think this garter is beyond perfect for the bride who loves bling, sparkles, or tulle. I would recommend this garter if you are wearing a dress that has a very full skirt (ie: a ballgown styled dress). A Thin Sparkling Loop Wedding Garter Named

Introducing the Joy garter. The Joy garter is made out pure rhinestones. Set in a sort of "infinity" loop design, the Joy garter has a very fantasy-like, glamourous feel. Due to its sparkling girlishness and fantastic design, I have decided to name this garter after Joy Thigpen--the creative director of the infamous wedding blog OnceWed.. I think this garter is beyond perfect for the bride who loves bling, sparkles, or anything that has to do with fantasy. (ie: The Labrinth, Lord of the Rings, The Never Ending Story, etc) If you are looking for a unmistakably glamorous, modern wedding garter than the Joy is a must-have. A Sparkling Rhinestone Glamour Wedding Garter Named "Aurora"

Introducing the Aurora garter. The Aurora garter was named after the famous Sleeping Beauty princess because this garter has an extremely princess/queen-like feel to me. It is made of solid rhinestones with a beautiful dangling centerpeice that is accentuated by several draping silver bead-chains. The back half of this garter is made of a soft, light colored elastic. I think this garter is by far the most glamourous garter in the entire collection. If you are looking for a breath-taking, modern wedding garter than the Aurora is a must-have. Ivory Beaded Wedding Garter + Inspiration

The more I look at the Lori garter, the more I appreciate it. It is simply the prettiest ivory beaded wedding garter I have ever seen. When I first designed it, I wasn't sure how brides would respond to it. That is, it was very untraditional. There was no lace. No trim. No center bow. None of the things that people normally identify with normal wedding garter anatomy. Apart of me was afraid that it was too "outside of the box" to be appealing to my brides. I could not have been more wrong. Almost as soon as I posted the Lori garter on the website, I began to recieve inquiries about it. I think there are a number of wonderful design aspects of this garter: one, it is beaded with over one hundred different ivory pearls and rhinestones. When the light hits it, it sparkles like mad. In addition, the Lori garter lies very flat on the brides leg. So, if she is wearing a gown that does not allow for a bulky garter (like a trumpet or a mermaid style gown) the Lori is perfect in its flat, unobtrusive design. Lastly, the Lori garter is a tiny bit vintage-looking in its coloring which makes it a perfect garter for any bride who has a touch of vintage inspiration in her wedding. La Gartier Wedding Garters and Beautiful Wedding Rings

So this week my head is swimming with brand new garter design ideas for the upcoming collection. A good amount of these ideas are coming from looking at pictures of engagement rings. I want the newest collection to be dripping with sparkle and glamour. Something similar to what would happen if you took Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe and the original Tiffany's store and melted them all together. In the spirit of this wonderfully decadent and luxurious state of inspiration I am in, I thought a blog posting devoted to wedding rings would be perfect. Below is a glimpse of the inspiration for the newest collection along with a few La Gartier wedding garters that hint at this same sort of decadent glamour I am going to be chasing for the next few months. Heirloom Wedding Garter Set

One of my favorite garter designs to do is a heirloom garter set, for brides who wish to incorporate a piece of jewelry from their mother's/grandmother's jewelry collection or, well, any other material that has a special family significance. Whether it be a piece of fabric or a trinket that once belonged to their father, the best thing about creating a heirloom garter set for a bride is knowing that she will one day pass it down to her own daughter (or whomever she so desires for that matter). A great example of a La Gartier heirloom wedding garter set is pictured below and if you don't mind I am going to tell you all about it!!:) The brooch was from La Gartier bride Erin Hamilton's mother's jewelry collection. It was an incredibly old, incredibly beautiful brooch that she sent me via ups, covered in so much bubble wrap you would think an atomic bomb was inside. We decided to put it on a white layered spotted english netting garter to match her gown, and left out all other embellishments other than the brooch. Anything else would have just taken away from how spectacular this particular piece of jewelry was. Below is a picture of this jaw-dropping heirloom wedding garter. Happy La Gartier everyone!!
Risque Boudior Photography + Boudior Garters

So, I recently had the pleasure of being introduced to Atlanta's best boudior photography company, Risque Boudior. Boudior Photography sessions, as most of you know, are gaining popularity quickly and while Atlanta has a handful of companies who offer these kinds of services, it is my humble opinion that Meredith of Risque Boudior does it the best. If you live in the Atlanta area and are considering a boudior session for yourself (they make the best gifts for your husband for your wedding, anniversary or, as far as he is concerned, Sunday half-time:) you MUST check out her site by clicking here. Get ready there are some pretty "risque" images on the site. You know, the kind that will win you bonus points for eternity from your significant other? Did I say they make great gifts? Below are some photos from Risque Boudior, taken by Meredith herself.
I recently emailed Meredith about possibly collaborating, as I have always wanted to design a collection of boudior La Gartier garters, and I was happy to hear she was interested. So, I set to work designing the first La Gartier Boudior garter. (See pics below). It isn't exactly wedding dress material, but it sure would look good with the lingerie you might wear the night OF your "I do's".
