Britney Spears Engaged + La Gartier Ambition

So, as the world gossip goes, pop-singer Britney Spears got engaged this week! The rumors started a few days ago but were solidified Thursday when she stepped out for her fiance, Jason Trawick's fortieth birthday party wearing her engagement ring. While I am not a huge fan of pop music, I am a big Britney fan mostly because of her talent as a dancer. I can't get enough of Britney's dancing and to this day will pop in my "Best of Britney Videos" during an at home work out or just when I want to feel inspired. For anyone who has ever danced, it is hard to deny her talent as a performer. What does this have to do with garters you ask? Four words: La Gartier Bride Britney Spears. I would love love love to design a garter for her! Wish me luck!

Peach Wedding Garter Love

The color of the sunset. Starfish. The state fruit of Georgia. What do all these things have in common? Yep, that's it: the color peach. The mature cousin of the color pink, or perhaps what would happen to pink if she got out in the sun a bit more often. (I just kill myself sometimes)
No, but really, peach is one of my favorite colors and makes for a great wedding garter color. With this past collection, I really tried to keep most of the garter designs in ivory or white, but couldn't resist bringing in peach, pink, blue and teal. The peach garter was a hit surprisingly, so much so that I have used it again in the upcoming collection.
If you are a bride who has incorporated this warm, fuzzy, soft, subtley feminine color into the color pallete of her wedding or if you simply love the color peach, below is a great garter option for you. This garter is made of a peach tulle netting with four tear-drop sized rhinestones in the center. The band is a matching peach, done in an exquisite double faced satin ribbon.
I've listed a few other peach things below as well, just in case you love it as much as me!

Heirloom Wedding Garter Set

One of my favorite garter designs to do is a heirloom garter set, for brides who wish to incorporate a piece of jewelry from their mother's/grandmother's jewelry collection or, well, any other material that has a special family significance. Whether it be a piece of fabric or a trinket that once belonged to their father, the best thing about creating a heirloom garter set for a bride is knowing that she will one day pass it down to her own daughter (or whomever she so desires for that matter). A great example of a La Gartier heirloom wedding garter set is pictured below and if you don't mind I am going to tell you all about it!!:) The brooch was from La Gartier bride Erin Hamilton's mother's jewelry collection. It was an incredibly old, incredibly beautiful brooch that she sent me via ups, covered in so much bubble wrap you would think an atomic bomb was inside. We decided to put it on a white layered spotted english netting garter to match her gown, and left out all other embellishments other than the brooch. Anything else would have just taken away from how spectacular this particular piece of jewelry was. Below is a picture of this jaw-dropping heirloom wedding garter. Happy La Gartier everyone!!

Beautiful Wedding Garters

I came across this photo today and found my fingers doing the screenshot command before I had consciously decided to take a screenshot. Isn't it beautiful? Something about the white fluffy trim of the garter and the way the light works in this photo makes it an extraordinary image for sure. Just another reason to invest in a La Gartier garter--so you can have photos like these!

La Gartier Wedding Garters Featured On Tara Guerard Soiree

Let me start this blog posting with a *gasp*. La Gartier was featured this week on the blog of celebrity wedding planner Tara Guerard. Which, if you aren't completely immersed in the glittering world of weddings as I am, you might not know what a big deal this is but wow, let me tell you, I am over-the-moon happy. You see, Tara Guerard is a nationally recognized wedding planner, not to mention one of my personal favorites. I blogged about her and her company, Tara Guearard Soiree, just a few posts back so I won't bore you by re-writing (re-gushing) all about her. Let me just say that sometimes it pays to muster up some courage and simply pick up the phone. Thank you Tara and Erin for the posting and I hope to design for your brides someday. Wedluxe Bridal Show + La Gartier

Custom Wedding Garter Spotlight: Kimberly Lastrilla's Nautical Garter

Delighted to be contacted this week by La Gartier bride Kimberly Lastrilla with photos of her nautical-inspired custom wedding garter!! Kimberly Lastrilla entered the Bow Ties and Bliss wedding garter contest a month or so ago, and ended up winning the "Kim" garter. However, in the comments section of her entry, I noticed that she had written that her wedding was to have a nautical theme. After exchanging a few emails back and forth, I decided to design a nautical-inspired wedding garter for Kim. Below is her comment that she left on the Bow Ties and Bliss website along with a few pictures of her custom wedding garter design. Thank you very much for sending these along Kimberly!! I love love love real wedding pics!!
Wedding Planner Obsession: Tara Guerard Soiree

It must have been over a year now since I stumbled across wedding planner Tara Guerard. I don't exactly remember how I found her website, but I certainly remember all of my oh's and ah's as I sifted through her online photo gallery. Each of her weddings are so well-done-- each with their own special details and nothing too over-the-top flashy. Until that point, I had never come across such tasteful, well-designed weddings. I found myself returning to her website again and again for inspiration when I was in the thick of coming up with new wedding garter ideas. In fact, the "Tamara" garter was in part inspired by a wedding she did entitled "Love Birds".
Well, I just recently had the honor of speaking to Tara herself on the telephone. Why? Because I called her. Why? Because I want to design a wedding garter for one of her weddings. You should have seen me. You would have thought I was on the phone with Kate Moss or something. It really would have been quite hilarious for someone to see had they been there.
Anyway, as Tara Guerard is my most recent wedding obsession, I thought it appropriate to blog about her and her fabulous wedding planning firm, Tara Guerard Soiree, tonight as I sit here at Little Azio's pizza. I will let the images below speak for themselves. I picked my favorite wedding of hers, Love Birds, to feature below.
If you are looking to hire a wedding planner, please please please check out her website here. I'm not going to lie, she doesn't seem exactly, um, for a bride-on-a-budget let's say........however for the bride with a budget, I doubt you could hire a better wedding planner.
