Superman Inspired Wedding Garter Design For La Gartier Bride Tara Hudson

Two weeks ago, I did a custom wedding garter design for La Gartier bride Tara Hudson that stills has my mind reeling. Tara wanted a Superman-inspired wedding garter for her husband, who she considers to be her very own, personal Superman. Tara wanted something that said "Superman" in an extremely elegant and couture way. To acheive this, Tara and I decided to keep the traditional Superman red and Superman blue colors out of the keepsake garter design. Instead, we choose a very high-end, hand-beaded white lace for her garter and shopped around for a silver, rhinestoned center Superman charm. Below are pictures of the final product. I can honestly say that Tara Hudson now had the most elegant, beautifully designed Superman garter in the world. Don't you think so?

La Gartier is happy to announce that we have been featured in Contemporary Bride Magazine--four times!! Contemporary Bride Magazine is a fantastic publication that serves brides in bot the New Jersey and New York region. They have two different editons: one for New York and one for New Jersey. A total of four La Gartier garters have been featured in both of their current editions (two for each edition) and La Gartier couldn't be more honored. Pink Rose Wedding Garter with Vintage Lace

Last week, I designed a garter that was extremely romantic and extremely girly. (Two of my favorite things!!) I had come across a few darling pink rose embellishments at my favorite jewelry store months ago and was instantly overcome with the desire to make a shabby chic, vintage inspired garter when I looked at them. They sat in the studio for quite awhile until I came across them last week. Eventhough it was a tiny bit late at night, I immediately set to work creating a vintage lace and ivory satin garter that would work well with the roses. Below is the final product. I think this garter is everything the vintage-loving bride swoons over. It says sweet, darling romance in an antique way. If it were a celebrity, it would be Carrie Underwood. If it were a place, it would be a seldom-known town in the midwest...filled with fields. If it were a house, it would be a country cottage with a huge wrap around front porch. Somewhere in this house is a quilt. Too descriptive? Probably.

Canary Yellow and White Lace Wedding Garter

There is no time for canary yellow like spring. Easter. Daffodils. Sunlight. I don't know about you, but after this winter, I am yearning for canary yellow like never before. In honor of this cheerful and distinctly young color, I recently designed a canary yellow wedding garter with a white lace overaly that is to-die-for. (See picture below) The body of this garter is made of a fine double-faced canary yellow satin ribbon. On top of the satin is a gorgeous white lace ribbon. To take this garter from cute to couture, I centered the garter with one small white satin bow and hung a breath-taking canary yellow gem underneath it. You should see this gem when the sunlight hits it! It is like someone took the essence of happy and managed to stuff it into a 0.75" by 0.75" space!

LulaKate Ivory and White Striped Wedding Garter

It was not until I moved to Georgia about five years ago that I discovered the label LulaKate. I was instantly filled with adoration. LulaKate makes some of the most fabulous, fun and flirty bridesmaids dresses' under the sun and is known for capturing the essence of the south in every one of its designs. Recently, I designed a wedding garter to match one of LulaKate's infamously--if not irritably--adorable dresses. I wanted to design a garter that had stripes in it, as this is one of LulaKate's signature bridesmaid dress styles. However, I wanted to keep the garter neutrail so it would go with any ivory or white wedding gown. After searching for about a week, I came across a perfect ribbon. To add a perfectly southern touch, I put a small ivory bow at the center of the garter. To add just a touch of glamour, I added one single sparkling rhinestone over the center of the bow. Isn't it adorable? Below are pictures of the garter along with a few of my favorite LulaKate dresses.

Southern Weddings Magazine is a publication that is known across the United States for being a trusted editorial resource for anything and everything when it comes to planning a wedding in the South. Full of mason jars, bow-ties, sweet tea and monogrammed everything, Southern Weddings Magazine and the SW blog is so utterly Southern that you can almost smell a Gardenia-laden, screen-porched covered, antique Southern home as you flip through the pages of their magazine. I am not from the South myself, but let me tell you, this magazine makes me want to be. Starfish and Feather Inspired Wedding Garter for La Gartier Bride Mi'chel Jarjoura

Last week I designed a beautiful custom garter for La Gartier bride Mi'chel Jarjoura that incorporated two major elements from Mi'chel's wedding: feathers and starfish. (See pictures below). Mi'chel liked both the look of the Fatima garter and the Lori garter from the permanent collection but wanted elements of both for her garter. She decided to place a custom order and combine elements from both the Fatima garter and the Lori garter to create her dream garter. To bring in the starfish theme from her wedding, I designed a custom starfish-based embellishment scheme for the center brooch of her feather flower. I am in LOVE with the final product. Isn't it stunning? I think it says beach in the most elegant, glamorous way possible.
