Real Wedding Garter: La Gartier Bride Carissa Harris' Custom Spanish Romance Garter

Last year I had the pleasure of designing a custom wedding garter for La Gartier bride Carissa Harris. Carissa was married on March 1st, 2012 in Old San Juan Puerto Rico. I was so excited when Carissa contacted me last year and told me she wanted to have a Spanish Romance inspired garter made for her wedding. To make things even better, Carissa wore a gown that was made mostly of alencon lace (which I love) so it gave the opportunity to design a wedding garter that was very unique indeed. Real Wedding Garter: La Gartier Bride Amanda Pelletier's Custom Champagne Satin and Alencon Lace Wedding Garter

About five months ago I had the pleasure of designing a gorgeous and unique custom wedding garter for La Gartier bride Amanda Pelletier. Amanda was married on March 30th at The Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island, Florida. Today, Amanda was kind enough to email me pictures of herself and her garter from her wedding. Blue Silk and Floral Custom Wedding Garter for La Gartier Bride Valesca Bendigo

About five months ago, I was contacted by a bride named Valesca Bendigo that wanted a custom garter made but only had fifteen days left before her wedding to do so. She was getting married on December 29th in Miami, Florida and I was determined to make her something gorgeous eventhough the timing was difficult. Valesca loved the "Carrie" garter from the Custom Gallery but wanted to change a few things. In the end, she and I ended up going with a light blue dupioni silk design with a to-die-for white floral embellishment detail and Vera Wang trim. Yesterday, I was lucky enough to recieve an email from Valesca with real wedding photos of her garter along with a few gorgeous photos of herself from the wedding. Below are just a few of the photos. Custom Heirloom Wedding Garter Set for La Gartier Bride Marisa McLaren

Three weeks ago I had the pleasure of receiving a phone call from a woman named Jill McLaren who lives in Red Wing, Minnesota. Before I tell you anything else about this woman, let me say that Jill McLaren is someone who truly LOVES her daughter. Throughout our conversation that day, Jill told me all about her daughter Marisa McLaren. She told me that her favorite color was purple and had been purple from the time she was in the womb. She told me that Marisa was extremely beautiful and loved long distance running. She told me Marisa was slightly girly but had a tomboy streak. I was instantly touched by the fact that I was being allowed into such a special part of both Jill's and Marisa's life. Jill told me that she still had the veil from her wedding in 1980 and wanted to know if I could create a garter for her daughter using the tulle from the veil. I accepted the challenge and within one week I had the gorgeous veil here in my studio. (see pictures below). Jill wanted a very full, tulle-based garter for Marisa with sparkling embellishments, something purple bring in Marisa's favorite color, and something blue to take care of the "something blue" tradition. Below is a picture of Marisa's final heirloom garter. I think this garter turned out stunning. It truly one-of-a-kind and has a TON of Marisa's personality in it. I feel very honored and grateful when I look at this garter. It is touching to me that Jill McLaren trusted me to cut up her treasured veil from 1980-- an accessory that she walked down the aisle while wearing---and create such a meaningful peice for her daughter. In all honesty, it was a blast.

La Gartier Bride Marisa Kay McLaren's Heirloom Wedding Garter-made from her mother's wedding veil. This garter has a center purple brooch to bring in Marisa's liftime-long favorite color with sapphire blue swarovski crystal rhinestones to bring in Marisa's "something blue"....and feathers to help the garter match some of Marisa's other feather-based wedding accessories.

Starfish and Feather Inspired Wedding Garter for La Gartier Bride Mi'chel Jarjoura

Last week I designed a beautiful custom garter for La Gartier bride Mi'chel Jarjoura that incorporated two major elements from Mi'chel's wedding: feathers and starfish. (See pictures below). Mi'chel liked both the look of the Fatima garter and the Lori garter from the permanent collection but wanted elements of both for her garter. She decided to place a custom order and combine elements from both the Fatima garter and the Lori garter to create her dream garter. To bring in the starfish theme from her wedding, I designed a custom starfish-based embellishment scheme for the center brooch of her feather flower. I am in LOVE with the final product. Isn't it stunning? I think it says beach in the most elegant, glamorous way possible. Lilac Purple Custom Wedding Garter with Personalized Initials

Today I created this gorgeous lilac purple wedding garter for my first ever Danish customer, Kelly Loos. Kelly contacted me via email about a month ago and told me that she wanted to have a custom garter made for her best friend with the hanging initials "S" and "G". Creating this garter for Kelly has been quite an adventure for me as she is the first bride that I have ever designed for that speaks English as her second language. That is, a large part of our communication was done through emailed pictures. I can now confidently say that it is not terribly hard to communicate a design, even through email, if you have a simple photo editing program. Below is the final garter that Kelly and I worked together to create for Kelly's best friend. It leaves for Denmark tomorrow!!

Beach Wedding Garter for La Gartier Bride Karina Romero

This past week I had the pleasure of working with La Gartier bride Karina Romero who wanted a beach inspired wedding garter. Karina is from McAllen, Texas and is set to have a wedding full of starfish accents just next month in October. Karina was kind enough to send me pictures of her invitations and her dress........which left my mind reeling with ideas. In the end, we decided to create a Tiffany Blue wedding garter for her, with white embroidered Vera Wang netting as her trim. At the center, we decided to use one single rhinestone Starfish brooch which I found for her on Etsy. Below are pictures of the final product. I can't wait to mail you your garters Karina! I think they both came out ah-mazing!

Personalized Wedding Garter: Nena Patterson's Pearl and Rhinestone Inspired Garter

Well, it just so happens to be that wedding season is fully upon us this month and I am most definitely feeling all of the bridal frenzy!! Never has the studio of La Gartier been so busy with the sound of sewing machines, email alerts and new La Gartier brides! One of my favorite things to do is design personalized wedding garters, so when La Gartier bride Nena Patterson contacted me two weeks ago regarding a customization I was ecstatic. Nena wasn't %100 positive what she wanted her garter to look like so we spent a good amount of time chatting about the elements of her wedding, her favorite things, her personal style,etc. Then, I set to work shopping for things that might pique her interest. I was lucky enough to find two separate brooches that Nena loved: one, a vintage blue jeweled brooch that had the phrase "I love you more than yesterday but less than tomorrow" on it and two, a stunning pearl and rhinestone brooch. In the end, neither of us could decide which was prettier, so Nena told me to order both!! Once both brooches arrived here in the studio it was clear to both of us which brooch looked best on her garter: the pearl and rhinestone brooch undoubtedly. (Nena later decided to use the blue jewel brooch as her bouquet embellishment AND her something blue:) When we finally finished her personalized wedding garter design, I don't know who liked it more: me or Nena!! Its design perfectly suites Nena and her wedding style: elegant and tasteful. Below are pictures of the final product for you to see! Nena's Custom Wedding Garter: Pearl Dupioni Silk and embroidred tulle trim from Vera Wang. At the center is the pearl and rhinestone brooch that I found for Nena after three days of extensive shopping.
After securing the brooch, Nena felt that the body of the garter could use a little "dressing-up" so I set to work adding alternating pearls and rhinestones all around the body of her garter. This is a picture of the back of her garter once the additional embellishment was completed.

Custom Wedding Garter: Lindsey Hasselbring's Violet Orchid Wedding Garter

I really love it when I get a new, fresh custom garter request. This is exactly what happened when La Gartier bride Lindsey Hasselbring contacted me last month about designing a garter for her that somehow incorporated two very important elements from her wedding: one, the violet orchids in her bouquet and two, the fresh water pearls on her dress and other accessories. She didn't know exactly how she wanted to incorporate these two elements and asked me for suggestions. I set to work doing what I do best: shopping. I got very lucky when I found two extremely exquisite orchid inspired pendants with hanging amethyst gems. I immediately emailed Lindsey pictures of them. (See pics below). After waiting for the orchid inspired pendants to arrive, Lindsay and I built the body of her garter using the "Lavina" garter body style as our base. To bring in the fresh water pearl motif Lindsey requested, we decided to put one single pearl in the center of the charcoal grey bow directly above the orchid pendants. I was beside myself when I saw the garter completely finished. It is the picture of modern elegance, glamour and elegance!! Below is the is a picture of the finished product, taken right here in my studio yesterday. Thank you so much for contacting me Lindsay! This garter was a blast to design for you!!
Pearl Dupioni Silk and Ethereal Vera Wang Tulle Trim make up the body of Lindsey's garter. The embellishment consist of (from top to bottom) a double-faced satin ribbon charcoal grey bow, one single fresh water pearl, and a stunning amethyst pendant with an orchid-inspired base.

Chicago Bears Wedding Garter

This week I had the pleasure of designing a Chicago Bears inspired wedding garter for La Gartier's newest bride Tami Lilus. She decided to place a custom wedding garter order after looking through a few different styles of Chicago Bears inspired wedding garter designs and finding nothing she liked. She told me she wanted a classic Chicago Bears look but with a hint of elegance. To accomodate her request, I designed her garter using an authentic Chicago Bears printed grosgrain ribbon but left off the lace in order to make it more modern. To add elegance, I used a glamorous, sparkling rhinestone embellishment at the center. Below is a picture of the finished product. Thank you so much for contacting me Tami!
